Pastor David Albert::
Thank you for visiting our web site. It is our prayer that you will find hope, comfort, peace, and a sense of God's love and presence as you consider the various ministries of Living Hope Bible Church. The very core of who we are as a church family, is our love for Jesus and for each other, and it is our desire that all whose paths we cross will sense that love in some way. Please do not hesitate to call us for prayer, for other needs of your life, or if you just need to hear some words of hope and encouragement from the Word of our Living God.
My name is Dave Albert. I have been the Pastor of Living Hope since 1981. I received Christ as my Savior in the fall of 1974. Seven years later, God called me out of a machinery business I owned and operated, to be the pastor of this small church in Eldon. I've often related that my first official Sunday as pastor, there were twelve people in attendance. The next Sunday there were eight. I remember telling my wife that in just two more Sunday's, I would have everyone "driven off". God had a different plan and has sent wonderful, talented, devoted, skillful, and most of all, people who have an intense love for Jesus, and at this writing, our membership is about 230 people.
My wife, Winnie, has served by my side from the beginning. She started the first Sunday school program after we came here; the first music program; the first VBS program; our first youth camp; she began a program whereby we offer a complete hot meal for all families for whom we have funerals; she has been instrumental in nearly every aspect of this ministry, and I am so proud of her and appreciate her selfless efforts for all these years. Besides that, she is a great pianist, organist, as well as the keyboard, and a wonderful wife. She is indeed, a gift from God.
We have two grown boys. Our oldest son, Richard is a quality engineer, currently working in Ottumwa, Iowa, at John Deere Ottumwa Works. He and his wife Michelle, have four children; daughter Lindsey, and sons, Tyler, Trevor, and Trey. Our youngest son, Timothy works for the Ottumwa Water Works, as senior water purification operator. He and his wife Christina, have two daughters, Cynthia and Bristol. Winnie and I are so very proud and thankful for the fact that both boys and their families, are devoted servants of Christ Jesus. We love our daughters in law as if they were our very own, and give thanks and praise to our Heavenly Father for His kindness and mercy every day.
We would dearly love to get to know you. If you have a church family, may I just personally urge you to be faithful and to devote yourself to serving the Lord Jesus in the place where He has called you. If you do not have a church family, we would love for you to come to Living Hope and meet the folks here; allow yourself to absorb the love of our Savior, and allow Him to fill you, with His Living Hope.
1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his
great mercy he has given us new birth into a Living Hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Pastor Dave
