Pastor Mark Clark
I have been at Living Hope since 2009. I was first hired to work along side Pastor David Albert in an Associate Pastor position. Upon his retirement in October of 2012, I moved into the senior pastor role. I count it a distinct honor and privilege to serve this congregation.
A little bit of my history: I grew up in Richland, Iowa and graduated from Pekin High School. I graduated from Indian Hills in 1992 with an A.A.S. in Laser/Electro-Optics and moved to Wisconsin. I worked for Laser Machining, Inc. for eight years in various roles. I went on to work in the medical device market for Synovis Interventional Solutions in project management and continuous improvement capacities for the next five years. While working in manufacturing, I also served St Croix Valley Church as a part-time youth pastor. I stepped down from the church after my first son was born. I then went back to college and graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota with a B.S. in Business Management. My family and I later moved to Kentucky where I attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. We lived in KY for three years while I pursued a Master's of Divinity degree. I graduated in December of 2009. While in seminary, I worked as a youth minister in Lawrenceburg, KY.
Family: My wife, Lea Ann, and I have been happily married since 1993. We have two boys: Grant, born in 2000, and Ben, born in 2002. We are all excited to be in Iowa once again. God has a way that brings us full circle.
Some favorites: I enjoy athletics. I have coached youth baseball and football. I enjoy rooting for all the Minnesota pro sports teams. But, I also like the NY Giants and Boston Celtics. In college athletics, I root for the Cyclones & Kentucky Basketball (Go Big Blue!)
I love to read. I have a few favorite books: "Spiritual Leadership" by J. Oswald Sanders; "The Call of the Wild" by Jack London; & "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling.
My life verse is Hebrews 12:1: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."
God has blessed my life through many trials. He has prepared me and shaped me to do His ministry. I am excited at the current and future ministry at Living Hope Bible Church. Please join us in worshiping Christ the King.
Onward and Upward,
Pastor Mark
